12/14 Biology update and homework due 1/4/2016
Hi folks,
Today we finished off our discussion of cells and cell reproduction and began our discussion on genetics. We covered meiosis for the first part of class which led us to sexual and asexual reproduction. This led us to discussing how offspring get their genetic make up. We finished off the day by surveying the class to see what phenotype traits folks had.
Homework for 1/4 is to:
Read chapter 8 pages 161 - 164
Do questions 16 - 20 on page 166
Do questions 1 - 6

12/7 Biology class update and homework due 12/14
Hi folks,
Today in bio we began to discuss cell division. We primarily covered mitosis and next week we will discuss meiosis.
For homework this week I'd like you to read pages 150 - 159.
Do "Understanding Key Concepts" on page 166 #'s 5-15
Be sure to understand mitosis. You can bet I'm going to ask you to draw that on a quiz or two.

Since power was out at the classroom this past class, I couldn't record the class. Soooooo, I went back into the YouTube archives and found this video from 2013 (for some reason the 2014 version of this same lesson was also mysteriously missing). It's going to be a bit odder than usual but it should do the trick.

Bring a sweater to Biology
Hi folks,
The clubhouse is having problems with power today. Something's are working and some are not. The heat is one of the things that is not working at the moment. I'd recommend bringing a sweater or something to keep warm today during class.
